The video work “Gefilterte Realität” uses everyday life as a focal point, removing the boundaries between games and social conditions. We are all biological robots in a social system surrounded by rules and codes to follow. We all play the game everyday life, where all our actions are codified and scored in the game. We receive points for complying with socially established norms, but with a single meltdown or error, our whole life can change: If we loose our job, partner, or home, the possibility to win the game is minimised. We play on hard difficulty and we could never press save.
The artists have combined a reality from computer games and real life, where elements from the game dictate the results. An everyday scenario unfolds in a perfectionistic pastel universe.
